Slonsko Chalpa

The reconstruction was intended to adapt an old barn falling into ruin to a single-family house while preserving the concrete structure of the building together with some bricks and steel elements. Existing buildings, due to their modular grid of columns and concrete ceiling, could be easily rebuilt and arranged freely.

Przebudowa miała na celu adaptację popadającej w ruinę stodoły na dom jednorodzinny. Z budynków gospodarskich udało się zachować betonową konstrukcję budynku wraz z częścią cegieł i elementów stalowych. Istniejące zabudowania, ze względu na swoją modułową siatkę słupów i betonowy strop mógł być w łatwy sposób sposób przebudowany i w miarę dowolnie zaaranżowany.

The main structure of the building was shortened by four structural fields, of which two fields formed an external terrace, and another two made room for a double-height living room. The original structure and shape of the barn is clearly visible from the living room, where we have an exact cross-section of the building in the form of a mezzanine.

Bryła budynku została skrócona o cztery pola konstrukcyjne, z czego dwa pola utworzyły taras zewnętrzny, a kolejne dwa zrobiły miejsce na salon o podwójnej wysokości. Oryginalna konstrukcja i kształt stodoły jest doskonale widoczna właśnie z salonu, gdzie mamy dokładny przekrój budynku w postaci antresoli.

Z budynków gospodarskich udało się zachować betonową konstrukcję budynku wraz z częścią cegieł i elementów stalowych.

In the interior natural and minimalist finishing materials such as beautifully grained wood and dark polished granite contrast well and complement each other with visible robust materials like uneven bricks and untreated concrete with visible cutting marks.

Użyte we wnętrzu naturalne i minimalistyczne materiały takie jak gładkie, pięknie usłojone drewno i ciemny polerowany granit świetnie kontrastują, a zarazem uzupełniają się z surowym budulcem czyli nierównymi cegłami czy nieobrobionym betonem z widocznymi śladami po cięciu.

The roof of the building itself was raised so that residential functions could be accommodated on the first floor. The client together with architects decided to preserve the ascetic atmosphere of the building, which is why the block itself still has a simple barn-like shape.

Sam dach budynku został podniesiony, aby można było na piętrze zmieścić funkcje mieszkalne. Architekci wraz z inwestorami postanowili zachować gospodarski klimat budynku, dlatego sama bryła ma nadal prosty kształt nawiązujący do stodoły.
